Fashion Tips – Lose a Few Kilos’ Instantly Here’s How Part 1

Author: Sacha Tarkovsky
Any women can look slimmer instantly simply by careful selection of the clothes you wear and literally knock a few kilos off in an instant.
Follow the 12 simple fashion tips below and lose a few kilos instantly!

1. Focus on one color only
Monochromatic dressing (dressing in one color) makes anyone look taller, thinner and leaner.

2. Dark colors

It’s a fact:
Darker colors make you look slimmer than lighter colors. Black and blue for example, are great colors to use for an instant slimmer look.
3. Color Combos

When wearing multiple colors keep them close in intensity to each other. For example, dark blue and black .

4. Darker colors go at the bottom

At the bottom of your outfit, make use of darker colors this will give you an appearance of being taller and make your hips appear slimmer.

5. Heels

High heels with a thin sole automatically makes your legs look longer, you taller and slimmer as a consequence.

6. Legs

Legs will look longer and slimmer if you match your hoise to your shoes and skirts.
With a print skirt, use the main color to find hoise with a matching similar tone.
7. Hosiery
Always wear a neutral color hose or match your hosiery to the lighter color in the shoes and never do the opposite i.e. wear hoise that is darker than the lightest color in your footwear.
8. Don’t bisect a fuller figure
Choose a longer jacket or blouse, and wear it untucked.
This will give a leaner look by taking attention away from your waist.
9. Heavy fabrics make you look bigger!

Never wear clothes made out of heavy fabrics, they will simply make you look fatter, so go for finer, silkier thinner fabrics.

10. Wear clothes that fit

Buy clothing that is not too small and fits you.
Don’t try and be a size 14 if you are a size 16. There are plenty of women who get hung up on size and simply try smaller sizes that hug and make them look bigger – go for the size you are not the size you would like to be. By doing this you will actually look thinner and leaner
11. Vertical lines

Always make you look slimmer.
Single breasted jackets, stripes and ironed creases in trousers will visually slim your body by dividing it into vertical sections and the closer the lines are the leaner and slimmer your look will be.
12. Balance horizontal & vertical proportions

You will look instantly slimmer if you balance your vertical and horizontal proportions.
For example: If you have a long body and short legs you can theoretically wear a short jacket; however, if you have a large breast your jacket should be at least hip length to deflect attention away from the bust area. Wearing clothes that are in proportion to your figure will always make you look slimmer.

The above are simple tips but use them and you will find that you look slimmer leaner instantly. In this series we will also look at a number of simple ways you make yourself look slimmer more stylish and sexier, by focusing on choosing the right clothes and accessories to help you look your best at all times. Try the above and knock off a few kilos instantly!

Girls who do not have tons of money lying around, but want in on the hottest outfits and fashion trends can still do so even on a budget. There are plenty of items out there that look chic and stylish, and yet are easy on the purse strings. All it takes to land decent deals on cool clothes and accessories are heeding good advice and doing some really smart shopping. Yes, it is possible to get celebrity fashion looks for way under $100. Face it. Regular “Janes” seldom afford designer duds Hollywood celebs are wearing. As a result, people look for other means to fulfill their fashion hankerings. Some recreate the outfits of celebrities, pulling apart each piece and replacing them with less expensive but pricey-looking materials. Others do something else. The bottom line is: there are ways to get stylish without burning a huge hole in the pocket. Here are tips to get you out of a fashion slump and be one step closer to looking ultra-chic – the affordable way. • It sucks to find out your latest fashion splurge went up for sale a week after buying it. Before forking over a credit card, inquire whether the object of the fashion desire will be on sale sometime in the very near future. The salesperson might let you in on an upcoming sale, or even better, ring the item up at sale price on the spot. • Another great way to snag the best deals is to stock up on seasonal apparel just when the season is about to end. Comb through the sale racks for sweaters in May, bikinis in August, and short-sleeved shirts in November. • Avoid gift cards going to waste. They can still be good for swapping with others’ unwanted cards on various card websites. • Thrift shops, like high-priced boutiques, can prove equally expensive. However, friends’ wardrobes and closets are usually free. Arrange clothing swaps with the chicest of your chums. For varying shoe sizes or different dresses, consider accessories exchanges – costume jewelry, headbands, scarves and bags. • Get good selections by hitting stores on weekdays. Best odds of getting lucky are Thursdays, as these are when weekend sales pop up. Shoppers benefit from the price cuts while still having a wide selection to browse. The worst time to go is later in the weekends as stuff will have been picked over by the early birds. • After items stay in stores for months, retailers begin dropping their price to get rid of them. For those with enough self-control: wait out grabbing the merchandise for six to eight weeks after they hit the storefronts. • Benefit from half-off, buy-one-take-one and other such discounts - NOT by acquiring everything you are able to carry, but by bringing fashion-forward friends along. The two of you crave a new pair of pants? Hit the store together and get in on the special deals. • Consider shopping online using online coupons. These coupons are similar to vouchers people clip in newspapers and magazines, providing deals, promotional bundles and discounts. They are found online with codes people can copy, download and print prior to shopping. Some of them even don’t require any downloading, simply enter the provided code and start enjoying the savings. Sites compile them from different sources and make them available for free to Internet shoppers. Some coupons give percentage discount, offer free shipping (no territorial limits or boundaries for selling online), and/or freebies. • Everybody has that one place that messes up her shopping sense and judgment. Compel yourself to remain within a specified budget and guard against impulsive spending. Load gift cards only with amounts you’re able to spend and leave plastic moneys at home. • Take good care of clothes. Hand-wash delicate lingerie, dry-clean those tagged “dry-clean”, and never let the bedroom floor serve as a second closet. Favorite items will last longer this way so there is no need to replace them a few months into using them. With a bit of time and some effort, consumers can save quite a bundle with their fashion shopping. Whether it is paying brick-and-mortar stores a personal visit or searching through cyber stores, there are some definite money savings to be had. Even if it is just a few dollars for each purchase, all these can add up to some very substantial savings in the end.

Top Fashion Tips for Size Sixteen Plus Women

Top Fashion Tips for Size Sixteen Plus Women

Another myth is stripes. Evenly spaced horizontal stripes on say a top or sweater can actually be extremely flattering. The stripes literally stretch you out giving the optical illusion of making your torso look longer and therefore slimmer.

Size 16 plus women - Black is not slimming
For those of you carrying a bit too much weight please don’t make the mistake of hiding yourself in black.
Black defines and outlines the shape of your body. So for example, great legs look fabulous in sheer black tights, however if the shape of your legs isn’t so great then a neutral natural colour will be much more flattering. This rule works with the rest of your body too.

Dark colours draw attention to your curvy bits
Blocks of dark colours not only can look very drab but actually may be drawing attention to your, shall we say, your more “curvy bits”, instead of disguising them, if that’s what you are trying to do. Instead, find a print that’s not too small and twee. The print will break up the outline of your body. Look at colours that suit your face and help make you look and feel well. Be brave in beautiful colour because you know if you are over weight you may as well look luscious and beautiful.
A black ensemble isn’t going to make a size 20 woman suddenly have Kate Moss proportions. A curvy, size 20, red haired woman could look stunning in a violet print dress.
Keep your fabrics mat particularly for the places on your body where you are full. Large bosoms in silk shirts – I would think not. Please stay away from shiny fabrics because the light bounces off it. Your worst bits will be hi-lighted. Imagine a shiny satin jacket and now think about the top of your arms. Unless your arms are your slim bit, the shine will magnify them and you will not look great. A chubby thigh, in shiny satin jeans isn’t a great look either.

The myth about stripes
Another myth is stripes. Evenly spaced horizontal stripes on say a top or sweater can actually be extremely flattering. The stripes literally stretch you out giving the optical illusion of making your torso look longer and therefore slimmer. Vertical stripes stretch you from side to side making you look wider. I know this is the opposite of what so many popular fashion magazines tell you. However, after dressing several thousand women, I know I am absolutely right on this point…so you will have to go our and try it.

A “no-no” for double breasted jackets
Large breasted women (and in fact really anyone carrying too much weight) should not wear double breasted jackets!.

These days it is getting easier to find stunning plus size clothes as more and more designers create ranges specifically for the market. There are even specific stores that specialise in fashionable clothing that is available from size 16 up to plus size 28.

A Woman’s Fashion: What About Vintage Trendy Fashion?

A Woman’s Fashion: What About Vintage Trendy Fashion?

While BeverlyLane.com has everything a stylish modern woman could want in new clothes, sometimes a vintage piece is exactly what you need to complement your new trendy fashion clothes. Besides, vintage fashion can save you a lot of money if you do it right. Here we present five of the best tips going for getting the most our of your quest for quality vintage gear:

#1 A woman's fashion vintage tip: Don't expect too much

Vintage is great, but you have to start out with realistic expectations. Those dreams of finding a trendy fashion designer suit for peanuts are unlikely to come true, if only because everyone else looking is hunting for the same sorts of things. A more realistic expectation is that you will find at least one thing you'll enjoy wearing for a great price ever time you go vintage shopping. Our experience is that this is entirely achievable.

#2 A woman's fashion vintage tip: Give yourself plenty of time

Shopping for vintage clothes can be a time-consuming process, because the clothes aren't laid out neatly and with plenty of room like in a regular store. In fact, often vintage clothes are crammed together on racks or shelves, and you'll need to sort through them yourself to find the gems. Also, vintage stores won't be all together in a row like new trendy fashion clothing stores in a mall, so it will take you time just to get between one vintage store and the next.

#3 A woman's fashion vintage tip: Learn the routines

Different thrift and vintage stores will receive deliveries of new (old) clothes on different days. Take the time to get to know the staff, and they'll happily let you know the best days and times to come in so that you have first pick of the new trendy fashion stock. These days there are often professional eBay traders combing thrift stores for designer pieces to resell, so you need to be quick!

#4 A woman's fashion vintage tip: Remember about alterations

If you find a great vintage piece in a vintage or thrift store, but it seems to be the wrong size or shape for you, don't forget that you can always have a tailor alter the piece to your specifications.. Tailors can't work miracles, but at long as what you find is well-made and not much too small for you, they can usually help turn your vintage finds into wearable trendy fashion for you.

#5 A woman's fashion vintage tip: Be accommodating and persistent

The best way to shop for vintage clothes is on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This gives the thrift and vintage stores enough time to get in new stock to refresh their racks. Even then though, you're rarely going to find exactly what you what. So rather than go into vintage shopping with a clear idea of what you want to find, like you might when shopping for new items, just browse, and look out for what is beautiful and of quality. Also, be persistent – sometimes when you shop vintage you'll spend a fruitless hour, and walk away with nothing. This is all part of the game, so don't let it discourage you. The next great vintage find could be just around the corner.

Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 09

Knowing what to wear this summer couldn’t be easier, with a glance at forthcoming style from the spring/summer 09 collections, which include see-through and trouser trends.
Author: Andrew Regan

This summer, several key trends will be appearing on the beach, by the pool and after hours. While the seasonal forecasts have been around since 2008, you can now begin to get your hands on the trickle-down of styles and suggestions that were first seen on catwalks months ago. As with every season, you’ll find a range of stand-out trends from which high street fashion stores have either drawn directly or taken a subtle nod. This means you can either emulate the key trends effortlessly, or mix it up to get a flavour of what’s hot in amongst your own summer style. This summer’s style pack will undoubtedly be rocking the risqué sheer and see-through trend, which will keep you cool when it heats up. You can mix up the sheer trend with heavier fabrics too, for example, a sheer, floaty underskirt or dress, teamed with a chunky knit will not only keep you warm as the sun sets, but the combination of styles, fabrics and textures will look effortlessly chic. You’ll also want to pay attention to trousers, because they’re going to be big this summer. Making a fashion statement is easy in the trouser of the season and this spring/summer, the eastern influenced harem trouser is positively de rigueur. You can dress harem pants up or down as they’re perfect either for a lazy morning walk with flip flops, or with killer heels, chunky belt and loose fitting shirt for a night on the town with the girls or boys. Fringing is also going to be big this summer, which suits every cowgirl down to the ground. From suggestive leather thonging on oversized handbags, to fringed hems on trousers, skirts and even full-length fringing on dresses, ala Raf Simons at Jil Sander; Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga and even Chanel are getting in on the action with the fringe benefits of this look. In terms of cutting, biased, asymmetry and one-shoulder dresses, tops and swimwear are everywhere. Channelling a Grecian vibe, single-shoulders are alluring and practical and are great for keeping cool when the weather is warm. Finally, to be en point with the key spring/summer women’s fashion trends this year, hit the shops hunting prints – the more vibrant and colourful, the better. Think clashing, outrageous eye-catching pops of colours and textures and you’ll be well on your way. John Galliano for Dior, Roberto Cavalli and Christopher Kane were all over this trend this season and so should you.
