Stop forcing me to join Looklet!

My sister keep telling me that I should try to join Looklet.com. I already saw it at a glance when she was playing it, and I think...okay...you can choose the clothes you want, and then mix&match it with this and that, and then...what's so hot about that? Okay...I know that everyone there can participated in some contests and win something...but I wasn't sure that we could be the winner or at least chosen as nominee.

Why I was so skeptic? I share you my opinion here:
1. There are more than 250 thousand users joined Looklet, and I thought that number itself already shows us how small the chance to get attention among others who already joined & got popularity in this site.
2. It's an internationally contest, and for some reason, it's a bit hard for people that came from South East Asia to have themselves being a winner in such world contest. It's easier for us to see nominees from Europe or America continents rather than Asia. Example: it's very rare to see an Indonesian nominated for Top 10 Miss Universe, Miss World, etc.
3. The rules to enter the contest was: Looklet pick 20 nominees, and then the most liked nominees will get the first prize. If you get nominated, maybe because you are worth it. Means that your design is very outstanding.
If you get the first prize, your design might not be the best or the  (real) most favorite among all nominees' design. It needs extra effort , which is....you have to get vote from as many people to get your prize. And surely this effort will take much time. This is what I hate.

But somehow, yesterday I decided to join Looklet.com.

and I can't stop playing. Crap.

It reminds me that in my childhood, even I was boyish (and still, I think), I used to playing Barbie as well as any other teenage girls. The difference with Looklet is...in this site you can mix and match clothes that you don't have, you wish to have, or you may can't have!
You can practice to be a stylist there. Hm...I don't think I have a good sense as a stylist, and I don't ever dream about it, either. I prefer to design something. Well, I think Looklet can be one of my inspirations, and the other advantage was...I have something to write about for this blog :D
This is my looklet page, feel free to heart any looks that you love.
And this one is my first look:
What do you think?

A New Social Media

Guys, lately I can't write anything about fashion, so sorry :(
I spent much time in browsing for the right vacancies--I don't want another job wasting my time and skills anymore. Hope I can start a new career that is suitable for me :)

During my search, there's someone referred a new social media to me--it said you can get paid for the activities that you did everyday on Facebook, Twitter, or MySpace. Well, too soon to tell, since I just signed up an hour ago. But, it worth to try anyway. Click on the picture and let me know what you think :)

Have a good day, everyone!!!

Second chance to become an (Amateur) model

I spent my day with an old friend today, re-taking pictures of products for my online shop. These last 2 weeks I start to sell dresses with L & XL sizes but not much progress---I think because the pictures displayed were lousy. So I needed to re-publish more attractive pictures. The problem was who should be my models? It's not so easy to find one, who have curve body, and especially who are willing to get only a bowl of Bakso** in return? ^_^

So we both be the models. Yes, me involved. It's my second times someone make-over me for a single photo shoot, 'cuz I don't have a good make-up skill. Here's one of the result, the rest will be uploaded soon in my multiply.

The first time I had a similar photo session, was few years ago, when my friend wants to experiment a bit of the Ganguro's* stlye and apply it to me. But somehow it made me look like Erykah Badu instead Ganguro girl :D

Ganguro*: or "Black Face Girls" is an alternative fashion trend of blonde or orange hair and tanned skin among young Japanese women that peaked in popularity around the year 2000, but remains evident today. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ganguro.jpg)

Bakso** : is Indonesia term for meatballs, it served in a bowl, like soup, with noodles, beancurds (tofu), eggs, 'siomay'/steamed meat dumpling, and crispy wonton. It has a consistent homogeneous texture, and spices to it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meatball)

Bakso Time!!!

Start to post my own thoughts about fashion

Hi readers...

I think this is the time for me to post my own writings. As you might see, all my previous posts are free-fashion articles that I republish to fill this blog. Why would I do that? Let me tell the story.

One day in my previous company, I learn about SEO to boost the company site's popularity and the boss made us republish hundreds free articles and put links to our company sites. We had also been informed that we can make money from Google Adsense, if people visiting our blog and click these ads. We were quite motivated at that time and start to blog everyday.

Time to choose a popular theme for my blog and I choose fashion theme, not because I'm fashionable. That's totally wrong. I don't follow fashion trends but I don't wear weird clothes, either. Until I was a teenager, drawing people&design dress are my hobbies and become a fashion designer was actually what I want for living. I love watching fashion show on TV or reading latest fashion trend on magazines (even I didn't follow it). But I'm not a fashion designer now :p

My first plan was actually writing all my thoughts about fashion, about what I wear everyday, about what are my fashion wishlists, all about fashion&me. But next thing I know was I never got a chance to write anything outside my tasks in office. I was too busy, tired, and fed up with office things so I guess at that time there's no inspiration would come to me :(

But in the other hand, I really want to prove that I can get side-income from this Adsense! So I started with republish free-articles everyday (which I didn't feel too comfort doing it 'cuz my background is Journalism---somehow I felt like I'm plagiating, grab others minds--even though I always mention the writer&the URL source) and then I registered for Google Adsense. Lucky me...it tooks only 2 days for Google to cache my page and approve my Adsense request.

I posted 1 post everyday at the first month, and lesser at the 2nd month, and became less, less, and lesser. You know...it's really a boring job to copy-paste those posts, without enjoying what you post.

After resigning&decide to start my own business, I got more time to do anything including blogging everyday. Moreover, my writing about fashion will support my business now, an online boutique for L & XL size... you can peek in here :)

Don't hesitate to leave comments :)
